Because we raise your animal for you, slaughter on-farm and use a local custom butcher meat shares are sold as a percentage ownership in the live animal. This means when you make a purchase you are paying for your portion of the live animal, it’s feed costs and veterinary expenses. At the time of purchase we will already have slaughter dates assigned and know when your meat will be available. Please note the month in which your meat will be ready for pick-up at the time of ordering. We will contact you via email or phone with the exact day/ time for pick as the month comes near. Feel free to contact us with any questions at any time.
Of course! Please come visit our farm, meet us and our animals even before you make a purchase. See how we manage our land and animals in a way that regenerates the land and at the same time produces the most nutrient dense food. Otherwise, we encourage “shareholders” to schedule a visit anytime! We also host an annual “Shareholder” Appreciation Burger Night each fall, where we come together as a community and share a meal to celebrate a successful farming year.
Otter Creek Farm is committed to the stewardship and use of our resources to provide income to regenerate and maintain the opportunities the farm provides for the family, customers and community.
